The first annual invitation bonspiel was held in 1995 at Forest Hills rink and played there during the following three years. It was re-instated in 2002 when it was played at Pitlochry before moving to Braehead in 2004 when the Crook trophy was introduced. The bonspiel, which is played in early March, continues to be held at Braehead.

This competition is organised in a format of four games, each of four ends, where invited teams play against different clubs throughout the day. Winners are decided on ends and shots and all teams receive prizes.

Six teams are invited, plus two from Balfron. The invited teams this year were from Penicuik, Loch Ard, Troon Portland, Uplawmoor, Harlequins & Bearsden Ski Club.
